PuppetSoup’s Mission (not impossible)

 

• PuppetSoup will endeavour to enrich the lives of people using puppetry as medium of entertainment, communication and education.

 

• PuppetSoup aspire to produce innovative, exciting and excellent puppetry that promotes the artform and expands audiences  as well as encouraging participation in puppetry and related artforms.

 

• PuppetSoup aim to make puppetry accessible to a wide variety of audiences.  Our aim is to broaden the audience of puppetry across a diverse range of population from a wide range of social, economic and geographic areas.  

 

• PuppetSoup aim to engage in creative and meaningful ways with as wide a range of audiences as possible.  We endeavour to engage with other artists, professionals, companies, groups and individuals to create a variety of work and to incorporate puppetry within as broader range of the arts as possible.  PuppetSoup believe that everyone deserves fair and equal rights and we aim to work with, employ and have contact with people from all parts of society without discrimination.

 

• PuppetSoup aim to create diverse, collaborative and original works of performance utilising both traditional and new techniques of performance and puppetry. This is in addition to enacting and reinterpreting traditional and well known pieces of theatre and utilising puppetry and related performance arts as the primary mode of performance.

 

• PuppetSoup will endeavour to ensure that puppetry is recognised as an individual, separate and distinct form of performance and theatre art.  We are also committed to ensuring that it is promoted to and incorporated in a wide variety of other creative works and used in as many innovative ways as possible.   

 

• PuppetSoup aim to preserve traditional forms of puppetry and its techniques through education, research and audience expansion.  PuppetSoup will also continue to research and produce new and modern forms of puppetry to ensure that audiences are expanded and that puppetry becomes increasingly accessible to a wider range of people.

 

• PuppetSoup aim to be an ‘organised organisation’ and are fully committed to delivering well-managed, thoughtful and professional services.
